Le Vieux Pigeonnier Restaurant, Hotel and Swimming Pool

But we don't want you to just love it. We want you to live it. Touring Loubressac and maybe the castle will take maybe an hour. Time the visit with lunch and bring the kids to one of the world's most beautiful swimming pools paired with the most reasonable lunch menu in Europe. It's a hidden gem tucked away on the hillside three minutes away from the village: Le vieux pigeonnier at Py.

Evening and Nightlife: LaGrange

Loubressac features the hottest new bar in Le Lot: LaGrange. Opened just last month and located two steps from Loubressac's main village parking, the drink menu features five star quality cocktails paired with the best view in the world. Sip a Moscow Mule of perfection while overlooking the St. Cere valley, peppered with its medieval castles and forts. The owner (and manager) is also a world-renowned DJ who traveled the world touring before returning to his hometown to open his dream establishment. Expect a nice mix of locals and expats. The place is cool. Check it out - open from 4:00 pm until closing, sometimes into the early hours!

Spotlight: Loubressac

Come and spend the day at Loubressac. It's one of the most beautiful villages in the world. Perched like an eagle's nest as a fortified village near Le Lot's northern border at the confluence of four rivers, the village's architecture reflects both Celtic and Gallo-Roman settlements, as well as Loubressac's role as a fortified town during Medieval times. The ramparts were built in the 15th century by Adbemar d'Algrefeuille, a field marshal of Pope Clement VI's pontifical court (and cousin to the Pope) who was the first to call himself the "Barron of Loubressac".

But forget about all that. This is how you spend the day. Start with a visit to the Grouffe de Padirac, just ten minutes away from Loubressac, for a trip down an underground river. Head to Le Vieux Pigeonnier for lunch and a dip in the region's most beautiful pool. Complete the day with a walking tour of Loubressac, one of France's most beautiful villages. Oh, and don't forget to grab a nighcap at LaGrange, Le Lot's hot new bar.
